About Me

Hi, I'm Neha. I am raising two teenagers who keep me humble, a dog named Layla Moon who has never once respected a closed door, and a household with a sense of humour dark enough that it probably wouldn't survive being screenshotted. Twenty-five years in with my partner through the good stretches and the ones we don't put on the internet and still working on it, both of us, on purpose. If you've ever laughed at something you probably shouldn't have, mid-crisis, because the alternative was crying, we'll get along fine.

I believe connection is everything. With yourself, first. Then everyone else. Most of what brings people to my (virtual or actual) couch isn't really about the anxiety, or the flatness, or the fight with the teenager, it's about a disconnection that's crept in somewhere: from your own needs, your own body, the people you love, or the version of yourself you used to recognise in the mirror. My job isn't to fix you. You're not broken. It's to help you find your way back to yourself, and to the people around you, with a bit more honesty and a lot less performing.

I'm not precious about the process. I swear occasionally, I'll tell you if I think you're being too hard on yourself, and I don't believe therapy has to feel clinical to be effective. Some of the most useful sessions I've had with clients have also had a good laugh in them. Life is heavy enough; the room we sit in together doesn't need to be.

Underneath all of that: I'm a Registered Psychologist with the APS, and I've spent 17 years working with women navigating exactly this stretch of life, the middle years, the teenagers, the ageing parents, the anxiety that won't switch off, the days you don't recognise yourself.

If any of this sounds like you, I'd love to work with you.

I have a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from India, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology from Griffith University Gold Coast and a Master of Psychology (Counselling) from Swinburne University in Melbourne. I am trauma informed and trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
